Corona has affected our lives in one way or the other. Social distancing and (online) social networking is our best weapon against it. Although social distancing is the current norm but (online) social networking existed and will continue to exist even after corona. But nobody currently knows when would this corona after party start. So, until the time for corona after party comes, party during this time should continue.
But how?
Well, our family too faced this question until one of our close contact mentioned about Tambola/Bingo/Housie. Now I won’t go in depth explaining about Tambola. But to give a short intro:
In this game each player is given a printed slip consisting of 3 rows and 5 numbers each. A host draws random numbers, usually between 1-90, and the person first to cut these numbers in certain pattern (one of the rows or all the numbers) gets a prize.
Now the pattern and prizes may differ from game to game but what I want to tell through this blog today is how you can play this awesome game with your far distant family members online.

So what do you need?

- An online money transfer service (such as transferwise, paytm, paypal etc.)
- Whatsapp or any other social messaging app to create tambola group

Next step
Once you have all the above things, the next steps include:
- Deciding on the cost of the ticket (for eg. each ticket could cost 50 bucks)
- Deciding on the time to play (you can also create a poll like on doodle)
- Deciding on the number of rewards (like lines, corners, full house etc.)
One should start collecting the money for the tickets online as soon as the above points are clarified. On receiving the money the host should send the ticket to the players.
Let’s Play
Once everybody has received the ticket and are ready, the host can start the game by keeping in mind following steps:
- Host generates random numbers and sends them to the whatsapp group
- Once a player get a particular pattern in the ticket cut, he/she sends them to the group with a screenshot
- The host verifies the pattern and writes the reward for the player
- Once the final pattern is claimed then hosts transfer the winning amount back to the winners.
